Dr. Frederick Marshall Moore is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon focusing on minimally-invasive surgery. A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Duke Medical School, and Duke Spine Fellowship, Dr. Moore has served thousands of military patients as a spine consultant to the White House.
As a former middle-distance runner, Dr. Moore believes in holistic and comprehensive spinal care and is mindful of the unique needs of the active patient. Dr. Moore maximizes appropriate nonoperative options before both fusion and non-fusion surgery. He is experienced in total cervical disc replacement, kyphoplasty, minimally invasive lateral interbody fusion, and sacroiliac joint fusion.
As a Navy Commander, Dr. Moore led a fleet surgical team in Tarin Kowt, Afghanistan, in 2013, where he performed over two hundred spine and trauma procedures. He served as service Chief of the Fort Belvoir Orthopedic Department during its expansion at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital from 2011-2014 and served as Chief of the Spine Service from 2011-2018. Dr. Moore is experienced in expert witness testimony, independent medical examinations, and worker’s compensation cases for spinal injuries.
Outside of work, Dr. Moore enjoys exercise, meditation, and writing.
